Historic Erotica graces us with yet another rare treasure, with Betty Page Uncovered. Before plastic surgery and breast implants, there were thigh-high stockings and high heel shoes and Betty Page.

Betty Page is quite possibly the most famous pin-up/kink model of all time, making this title truly a unique find. This Tennessee girl turned risqué is mesmerizing-  this video is a set of archival clips of Betty Page in her classic get-up: thigh-high stockings, high-heels, bra and panties. She smiles and gyrates adorably for the camera, while we get a little narration at the beginning, to give the clips some context. Mostly she just dances and takes her stockings on and off. Even though there’s no real narrative, I found myself nonetheless absorbed by her coy expression and lusty swagger. She really knew how to love the camera.

Like some of Historic Erotica’s other titles, Betty Page Uncovered may not work as prime wank-off material (since it’s only about 30 minutes long), but works great as an opener to your longer porn viewing.

Since these are silent film clips, they are all complemented by some jazzy, vintage music that plays while she does her thing. On the whole, it was appropriate (and catchy), but a tad distracting at times. Aside from the narration at the beginning, you could crank down the volume on this title and replace it with the music of your choice, without losing anything.

Momentary buzz kill: where the hell is naked Betty? There are a few shots on the cover that show Betty topless, and they’re quite nice, but they’re not in the film! Don’t get me wrong, the whole appeal of Betty Page has nothing to do with nudity, but the cover WAS a tad misleading… I mean, and here I was hoping to see Betty Page ‘uncovered’. Although, the back of the box quips that it has “less nudity than most modern bath soap commercials”.

However, I was still delighted with what I got. There is something to be said for simple eroticism. Excuse me while I go out and buy a pin-up style calendar.
